Frequently Asked Questions
Do we need a reservation?
Yes, reservations are required to ensure a spot on our ghostly adventures. Our tours are popular and can fill up quickly, especially during peak seasons.
How long are tours?
Approximately 1 hour.
Where do the tours begin?
At 234 Federal St. next to the green clock.
Where should I park?
There is ample street parking on Congress St and Free St. One City Center Parking Garage is very close to the start of our tour, it's located at 23 Free St. and open 24 hours a day.
What if I'm late?
Unfortunately, we can't wait for late parties as this would be unfair to other guests. We highly suggest you arrive 15 minutes early in order to give yourself plenty of time to find parking and locate our starting point. We cannot grant refunds to guests who fail to arrive on time and miss their tour.
What if I Need to Cancel?
We understand that things happen. Our cancellation policy allows for a full refund or rescheduling if notified at least 24 hours before your tour’s scheduled start time.
Is alcohol allowed?
We do not allow intoxicated guests or drinking on our tours - you will be asked to leave.
Is smoking allowed?
There is no smoking or vaping allowed on the tour.
Are these tours recommended for children?
While our tours are family friendly we strongly encourage you to use your discretion when determining if a tour of a paranormal nature is well suited to the younger members of your party.
Are pets allowed on the tour?
Service animals are always allowed. Well behaved dogs on-leash are welcome too.
Should I worry about accessibility?
Our tours involve walking and most surfaces are flat. However, due to the age of the city, sometimes cobblestone and brick pathways can be uneven. Wheelchair and stroller accessibility throughout is not guaranteed.
What if it rains?
Tours are held rain or shine. If we need to reschedule a tour due to extreme weather you will be notified.
Can we take photos?
We encourage you to take photos on the tour - you never know who or what might show up in your pictures.
Can we take video?
No audio/video recording is allowed.
Are your stories true?
Our stories are based on historical events. We get our information from historical societies, first hand accounts, archives, and museums.
Can a private tour be arranged?
Definitely! Private tours are ideal for groups, special occasions, or those who want a more personal experience. Contact us to arrange your exclusive haunted exploration of Portland.
Will we go inside buildings?
Tours will be held outdoors only, however, many of the locations on our tour can be visited during normal business hours and are well worth a stop.
Will I see a ghost?
While many guests have experienced strange phenomena on our tours we can't guarantee a ghost sighting. Ghosts tend to have their own agendas and may not be available every night.
